It involves alternating between periods of fasting and eating; it is also known as time-restricted eating. During your fasting window, you go without food for a set time, usually between 12 and 24 hours, but without enduring nutritional deficiency, it is a pattern of eating rather than a particular diet type. Fasting and Autophagy Fasting leads to autophagy, the body’s self-preservation mechanism for cleaning out damaged cells and renewing itself.
